Congratulations to all the members of the USCRA Hall of Fame. There
accolades have put them above the rest. The profound award is well
deserved by all members who have achieved this great feet.
Each year new members are carefully picked by there fellow USCRA/Hall of Fame
members.
This is no easy task as there is so much history in the USCRA. Many riders,
organizers and volunteers are considered for a spot in the Hall of Fame,
but few are inducted. So we ride proud in a victory lap for the current and newly
inducted members of the USCRA Hall of Fame..
The newest yet very special addition to the USCRA Banquet is the Hall of Fame.
Established in 2012, this awards the elite in vintage motorcycle racing.
The USCRA Hall of Fame recognizes the key attributes most readily displayed by our senior most riders, volunteers, and club members.
We felt the need for an induction award to satisfy our desire to honor those, who by their persona, also honors our organization.
The universal traits they most often display are:
Sportsmanship – whether they win or loose, they are always grateful for the ride, and gracious in victory
Camaraderie– never too busy to help anyone: whether it be a fellow rider, even a competitor ·
Volunteerism – they are always willing to help; it is such second nature to them, that it is not always noticed, because it’s what they always do·
Seniority –
by their longevity and constancy of behavior, they have been faithful to these ideals
·
Bob Coy, George DeCamp and Richard Peterson paved the way in the first year induction of the Hall of fame.
Congratulations to the Father of the Pewter Run, Mark Gibson for his much deserved induction into the USCRA Hall of Fame Class of 2013. Bob Coy commemorated Mark with a wonderful and memorable speech, talking about Mark's achievements from the launch of the sidecar division of the USCRA to the creation of the Pewter Run. So again, congratulations to Mark for his selfless dedication and endless work for the USCRA. The USCRA would not be what it is today with him.
"A long-time rider, racer and gentlemen who is always quick to lend a hand: whether helping his fellow riders with parts,
repairs or giving sage advice to a new comer. He once said, “The USCRA is really a social club with a common interest in motorcycles.”
We couldn’t have said it better, and this gentleman upholds the ideals of our organization through his consistent sportsman-like manner."
